BlankTextCopy provides a web app to copy, inspect, clean, and generate blank / invisible / empty characters (e.g., Zero-Width Space, NBSP, ZWJ/ZWNJ, Hangul Filler, Braille Blank).

Scope & key promise

  • Our core features (Copy / Inspector / Cleaner / Generator) run client-side in your browser.
  • Pasted text is processed locally and is not uploaded to our servers by default.

What we (may) collect

We design for data minimization. Depending on configuration and your browser, the following may apply:

Technical & usage information

  • Server logs (standard web logs): date/time, IP address, requested URL, referrer, user agent, response code.
    • Purpose: security (abuse/misuse detection), reliability, debugging.
    • Legal basis (EU/UK): Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Local settings stored in your browser (e.g., dark mode, last character choice).
    • Where: localStorage or similar; stays on your device.
    • Purpose: convenience / UX.
    • Legal basis: Legitimate interests.

Optional analytics / telemetry (if enabled)

  • By default, we do not run invasive analytics. If we later enable privacy-preserving analytics (e.g., page views without cross-site tracking), we will state vendor and data categories here and in the Changelog.
    • Legal basis: Consent (where required), otherwise Legitimate interests with strong safeguards.

Contact messages

  • If you email us, we receive your email address and message content.
    • Purpose: respond to you; improve the service.
    • Legal basis: Legitimate interests or Contract (if your request relates to a transaction).

We do not collect

  • Clipboard content / pasted text into tools (processed locally).
  • Special category data (GDPR Art. 9) intentionally.
  • Childrenā€™s data knowingly (see Ā§11).

Cookies & local storage

  • Our app primarily uses local storage for preferences.
  • If we ever use cookies, weā€™ll document type, purpose, and duration here and, where required, present a consent banner.

Purposes of processing (summary)

  • Operate and secure the site (logs, rate-limiting, abuse mitigation).
  • Improve UX (local preferences).
  • Handle support requests.
  • Optional non-intrusive analytics (if enabled).

Data sharing & disclosures

  • Service providers: hosting/CDN, error logging, optional analytics. They act under data processing terms and must not use data for their own purposes.
  • Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights/users.
  • No sale / share: We do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as defined by CPRA).

Retention

  • Server logs: typically 30ā€“90 days, unless longer needed for security/legal reasons.
  • Emails: kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a reasonable audit trail.
  • Local storage: controlled by you (clear via browser).

Security

  • HTTPS by default; least-privilege access to infrastructure; minimized dependencies.
  • No method is perfectly secure; use the tools responsibly and avoid pasting sensitive data into any website.

International transfers

If data is processed outside your jurisdiction (e.g., EU/UK ā†’ non-EEA), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent. Vendor details (if any) are available on request.

Your rights

EU/UK GDPR (where applicable)

  • Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection; and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

California (CPRA)

  • Right to know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale/share (not applicable here), limit use of sensitive PI (not collected), and non-discrimination.
  • Submit requests via [email protected]; we will verify a reasonable degree of certainty.

Other regions

We honor applicable local rights to the extent required by law. Email us if you have a request.

Childrenā€™s privacy

  • Our service is for a general audience and not for children under 13. If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact us and weā€™ll delete it.

Do Not Track

  • ā€œDNTā€ signals are not consistently standardized. We currently do not respond to DNT; we avoid cross-site tracking by design.

Third-party links / brands

We reference platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp and games (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft, PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, Free Fire) to illustrate use cases. We are not affiliated with these services and are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the ā€œLast updatedā€ date and, where appropriate, by an on-site notice.
